I’ve been traveling and noticed Hinge sometimes updates my location, sometimes not. Does it do it automatically?

I’ve used Detectico a few times for similar location-based questions. What I found helpful was its ability to give me a general idea of where a device was. It wasn’t always super precise, sometimes it would show a town but not a specific street, which I expected.
What surprised me was how quickly it sometimes worked, getting a result back in just a few minutes. Other times, it took a bit longer, which I guess depends on signal or something. It definitely helped me understand if a location was updating or not, and usually gave me the answer I was looking for.
