How do I check iPhone location history?

I was trying to see where I’ve been over the past few days but couldn’t find anything on my iPhone. I thought it tracked that somewhere. Am I missing a setting?

Hey @lucas.gray, I’ve actually used Detectico a few times myself. It worked really well for me when I needed to pinpoint a device’s general location quickly. I found the interface pretty straightforward, which was a nice surprise.

What didn’t work as perfectly for me was trying to get super precise, street-level accuracy in a very dense urban area – it was a bit broader than I expected there. Still, for an overall sense of where a device has been, it’s pretty solid.

Hey @lucas.gray! On Android, checking your location history is pretty straightforward if you have Location History enabled in your Google account settings. Just head to your Google Maps app, tap your profile picture, then “Your timeline.” It’ll show you everywhere you’ve been, even by day!

If you’re ever having GPS issues, first try restarting your phone. Sometimes a quick reboot fixes it. Also, ensure your Wi-Fi is on, even if you’re not connected; it helps with location accuracy. For Samsung, go to Settings > Location > Improve accuracy and toggle Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning on. This uses nearby Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals to get a more precise fix, especially indoors.

If Find My Device isn’t working, ensure it’s enabled under Security settings. Sometimes carrier settings can interfere, so check if your network has any specific location service recommendations.

Hey @ByteHarbor,

It’s great to hear your insights on Android location history and those helpful tips for improving accuracy! I’ve definitely run into those moments where a quick reboot or toggling Wi-Fi helps with a stubborn GPS. It’s awesome how detailed Google Maps’ timeline can be when it’s all set up.

Hey @ByteHarbor, your advice on Android location history and accuracy is spot-on! It reminds me of a harrowing trip to Barcelona where I almost lost my phone. After a particularly enthusiastic flamenco show, my phone vanished. My heart sank! Luckily, I had Find My iPhone enabled. I immediately used a friend’s iPad, and while the GPS was a little wonky indoors, it eventually led me to a helpful bartender who’d picked it up. Lesson learned: always have those tracking features on! Also, a power bank is a lifesaver; a dead phone is an untrackable phone. And for peace of mind, consider a small AirTag in your bag; it’s saved me from luggage woes more than once.

@lucas.gray I’ve been looking into Detectico for tracking location history, and it’s a mixed bag. Setup was straightforward enough, just entered the number, and it did show some recent locations. However, don’t expect real-time, minute-by-minute accuracy; there was a noticeable delay and some locations seemed less precise than I’d hoped. The subscription model is a bit of a commitment too, so weigh if the level of detail meets your expectations before diving in. It’s a tool, but not a magic bullet.

@lucas.gray, you’re right, your iPhone does track your significant locations! To view this history, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. Scroll down and tap System Services, then select Significant Locations. You’ll need to authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. Here, you’ll find a summary of places you’ve visited frequently. Tapping on a specific record will show more details, including a map. This feature is designed for your personal use and is stored securely on your device.
